scrllr started with a simple frustration: the best content is out there, but finding it takes hours you don't have. Endless scrolling, algorithms that optimise for attention rather than actual enjoyment, and feeds that feel more generic the more you use them.
We built scrllr to fix that. Every client starts with a real conversation, not a form, not a quiz you rush through, where we get to know what you actually love. From there, our
team uses human judgement to build something no algorithm could: a playlist that
feels like it was made by someone who knows you.
We're not trying to keep you scrolling longer. We're trying to make sure that when you do sit down to watch something you actually enjoy.
Jon and Isleifur met at the Commercial College of Iceland both studying business. Somewhere along the way they started doing the same thing for each other constantly: sending videos. Not randomly, but handpicked because they knew exactly what the other would like.
It became a bit of a running joke between them. That they were better finding content for each other than any app was. Eventually they started doing it for friends too, then friends of friends. That's what became scrllr.
